CHAPTER 7: Back to 2D
You will select your strongest design from the previous explorations and translate it into 3D, building the base blockout. In my demo, I have moved forward with the 'Leader' archetype, but choose the sketch that you feel has the most potential. The most important goal here is not high-frequency detail, but capturing the correct volumes, proportions, and silhouette that you established in 2D. Interpreting a drawing into three-dimensional space requires problem-solving; you are building the foundation upon which everything else will stand. Take your time to ensure the 'attitude' of the sketch survives the transition to 3D. There is no rush. A solid blockout now will save you hours of headache later. Focus on the primary forms and make sure your character feels grounded!
